Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will visit the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday, 4 September. He will be received by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for an exchange of views on regional and bilateral issues. He will particularly discuss regional crises as well as bilateral cooperation on projects in the economic, educational, cultural, security and defense fields.
He will also visit the Louvre Abu Dhabi to launch the second season of the Franco-Emirati Cultural Dialogue, accompanied by the Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, H.E. Noura Al Kaabi, and will preview the new temporary exhibition "Japanese Connections ". Devoted to artistic and cultural dialogue between Japan and France, it exposes the works of twelve artists from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, coming from the collections of Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Musée d’Orsay, and the musée national des Arts asiatiques – Guimet, as well as the musée des arts décoratifs (MAD).
The minister will then visit the French school, Lycée Louis Massignon, one of the six schools of the French education network in the United Arab Emirates, to meet the entire school community and wish them success on the commencement of the academic year.
Finally, the Minister will visit Masdar City, a smart and sustainable city reflecting the commitment of the United Arab Emirates in the development of green energy and the fight against climate change.
