La France salue la décision, annoncée le 1er décembre par Cheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed, président de la Fédération Emirats Arabes unis, d’organiser prochainement des élections pour désigner la moitié des membres du Conseil National Fédéral.

Hommes et femmes pourront participer à ces premières élections.

La France y voit un pas important vers la démocratie.

France welcomes the decision announced December 1 by President Sheikh Khalifa bin-Zayed of the United Arab Emirates that elections are to be held shortly to choose half the members of the National Federal Council.

Men and women will be able to vote in the state’s first elections.

France sees this as an important step towards democracy.
